1. Open Notepad or any other text editor and write an article about yourself.

2. Create an html document from that file by renaming your file’s .txt extension to .html
3. Include compulsory HTML tags in the document and place your article in the <body> </body> tag.
Compulsory tags are:
<html>
<head>
<title></title>
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>
4. Divide your text in 3 parts and put each part in a <div> </div> tag.
5. Assign an unique id to each of the <div> tags like this <div id=”fucker”> ……lalala …. </div>
6. Create a style.css file in the same directory where you stored your html file. The same – create a .txt document and then change extension to .css
7. Add this line to your html document in the <head> tag
<link rel=”stylesheet” type=”text/css” href=”mystyle.css” />
Should look something like this:
<html>
<head>
<title>Your Site Title</title>
<link rel=”stylesheet” type=”text/css” href=”style.css” />
</head>
<body>

<div id=”dance”> I love to dance </div>
<div id=”live”>I love to live </div>
<div id=”rock”> I love to listen to rock music though I’m an R’N’B junkie</div>
</body>
</html
8. Now with CSS place these <div> elements in the middle of the page and color them.
TYPE this in the style.css
#dance { margin: auto;
         width: 300px;
         background-color: red;
         text-align: center; }
#live  { margin: auto;
         width: 300px;
         background-color: yellow;
 text-align: center;}
#rock  { margin: auto;
         width: 300px;
         background-color: green;
 text-align: center;}
9. Open your web site in Google Chrome!!!!
